Gender Discrimination
Employment law issues such as gender discrimination can create situations for employers. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 makes it illegal to discriminate against anyone on the basis of gender in employment opportunities.
Further, in the case of Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Company v. White, the Supreme Court determined that it is retaliatory discrimination when an employee was reassigned to less desirable duties and suspended without pay based on gender even though back pay was later received.
The Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA) protects Colorado employees in additional areas of potential discrimination.
